From September 7 to 8, 2019, The 2019 Common Law Adjudication Principles Conference (hereinafter referred to as the Conference), sponsored by the Department of Justice of the Government of HKSAR, the Guangdong High People's Court and the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court and organized by BCI & BIMC (formerly known as BCI), was successfully held in the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court.
On the morning of September 7, Guangdong High People's Court and Department of Justice of the Government of HKSAR signed the Framework Arrangement for Legal Exchange and Mutual Learning in The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter refer to as the Framework Arrangement).
As the first implementation project after the signing of the Framework Arrangement, the Conference invited the Secretary of Justice of HKSAR, Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah, Presiding Judge of the First Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court of China(SPC), Judge Xi Xiangyang, and Senior Barrister William Wong to give lectures for the participants. Over 500 people participated in the Conference, including judges from the First Circuit Court of the SPC, other courts in the Greater Bay Area and the intermediate court and district courts in Shenzhen, and lawyers from the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong.
Secretary Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah delivered the keynote speech.
